Welcome to the open archive collection of the Manuscripts division of the National Library of France.

Principal heir of the royal library to which are added funds outstanding during the revolutionary confiscations (Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Notre-Dame, Saint-Victor, etc.), the Manuscripts division of the Nationale library of France leads a constant scientific activity around objects he maintains : cartularies , manuscripts , correspondence, literary archives , politicians or historical pieces papers, etc.

These collections, organized by language (Latin, French, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Coptic, Sanskrit, etc.) , depending on their history and their content (scholars and bibliophiles, French Provinces, Masonic Fund, etc.) combine a variety shapes and materials (parchment, tablets, xylographers, stampings, etc.).

For more information, visit the readers' guide of the Manuscripts division (in french).
