Computer vision and digital libraries: feedback from the BnF
Résumé
This presentation will be an opportunity to try to write a genealogy of the uses of artificial intelligence at the BnF, from the first applications of OCR in the context of the digitization of collections to the current projects of image mining and content-based image retrieval, without forgetting the services to digital humanities researchers interested in iconographic contents. Particular attention will be paid to strategic and organizational issues to encourage the emergence of AI uses in heritage institutions.
